If you are considering a move to the Boise, Idaho area, naturally there are a few suburbs as options and Meridian is usually at the top of that list! The close proximity to the state's Capital is obviously the main factor why so many who relocated to Southern Idaho are drawn to settle down in Meridian but after reading, you will likely get excited and learn even more reasons to Choose Meridian as your new community.
Meridian is the closest neighboring city to Boise and is strategically bisected by the I-84 interstate with Hwy 20-26 as the border to the North. This, in turn, provides critical commute options with an average 15-minute commute for residents to the Freeway or a 5-10 minute drive for those in North Meridian to the Highway. Growing up in the area, we have seen the monumental growth of Meridian, Idaho in a relatively short amount of time. From agriculture and vast plots of farmland only 30 years ago, it has grown exponentially in that time and has been the fastest-growing city in Idaho for the past 15 years going from 10,000 residents in 1990 to nearly 100,000 in 2017. In spite of the expansion, Meridian has done an amazing job handling all of the growth which is why more and more people decide to call Meridian, Idaho their home.
Why do so many people finally call Meridian their Home? The small town Feel and the People is why we believe so many decide to Stay In Meridian once they do move here. You will find a great variety of properties from small ranches and acreage communities to patio- and town-home groups; large 1000+ subdivisions with swimming pools, parks and neighborhood schools to in-fill communities of 20-30 homes. There is a home for every style or chapter in life in Meridian and more options coming every year yet even with all of the growth, you will find numerous original homeowners who simply would not live anywhere else.
With all of this growth, you would expect amenities to follow... and the City Of Meridian has delivered! They have opened their doors to development yet made sure to keep the community its Number 1 priority. Even though local institutions like Idaho Central Credit Union are building their headquarters here and national companies like Paylocity and Ameriben have decided to call Meridian home, free events like Movie Night at Settlers Park during the summer allows families of all ages to Come Together, meet new friends and simply relax in the cool evening with a great big-screen movie. The Village at Meridian built-in 2013 has been a local Gem to the city fostering community involvement. With a full-service Move Cinema and over 100 business, there is always an activity happening there. There is a permanent kids playground in the courtyard and they provide free outdoor concerts during the summer months, a small ice rink during the winter for ice skating or simply sit outside and enjoy a meal or a glass of wine with the nightly Water Fountain Show at the Village reminiscent of the Bellagio Fountains in Las Vegas.
With all of these features, you are starting to see why Meridian is a great place to live and hopefully once you visit this great city for yourself, you will find even more great features to explore and share!
